The DSS chair is a fiberglass dining chair that solved a problem for the Eamses that plywood could previously not. A single continuous curved form that effortlessly shapes to the user. Initially manufactured in fiberglass as seen in this original version, it was more recently switched to polypropylene for environmental reasons.

Less commonly seen is the upholstered version. The combination of cream fiberglass and a navy blue upholstery is an excellent combination. The fading of the fabric gives the chairs a unique charm, only possible with age.

The Eamses had a unique way of naming each piece of furniture they designed. DSS simplifies the core components of the chair into a simple code. D (dining height) S (side chair) S (stacking base).

Vintage or new, let us know if you'd like us to track down another one.
